About us

From Australia and Antigua to Vanuatu and Zambia, through our growing networks we are sharing ideas, creating connections, and challenging ageism across the 56 countries of the Commonwealth.

Who We Are

Human rights do not diminish with age!

We are a charitable organisation, advocating to ensure older people are fully recognised in society, and are supported and enabled to live well in an all-age friendly commonwealth.

We support the view that a healthy ageing population is much less expensive one for governments to support, and therefore is less of a burden on taxpayers and health systems.

We actively lobby governments, encourage sharing of ideas and promoting intergenerational activities, hold both physical and virtual events, and support ongoing research into issues affecting older people in the Commonwealth.

Our Board consists of members from across the commonwealth.

The National Care Forum, the UK’s membership organisation for not-for-profit organisations in the care and support sector, is proud to support CommonAge.

As well as putting older people on The Commonwealth’s agenda to advance the rights of older people, CommonAge brings our Commonwealth colleagues together where we can share ideas, and support and learn from each other.

Vic Rayner

Chief Executive Officer, National Care Forum, UK

“Coming to Perth, [on a CommonAge conference scholarship] having this life changing experience and interacting with various development actors in the age care industry is the highest and the most monumental best practices with so much nostalgic feelings that I have ever experienced. This cannot and will never be forgotten in my entire life.”
