The #CelebrateAgedCare campaign needs you!
Across the globe, people working to support older adults are sharing their passion helping make a difference to other people’s lives through this exciting initiative, and we’re asking the aged care workforce across the Commonwealth to get involved.
Celebrating one person each day, the #CelebrateAgedCare campaign profiles a person working in aged care across its social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn).
From care workers, affiliated health professionals and chefs, to technology and IT, lawyers, administration, and social entrepreneurs, everyone from across the world who works in the aged care sector can participate and be celebrated.
How to get involved
Joining the campaign is easy. There are three ways to get involved:
- Be profiled
Simply fill in the online form where participants are asked to describe what and how they contribute to the sector, and what they wish to see change.
- Nominate others
Nominate colleagues, friends and family to get involved, using the ‘nominate others’
- Share across your social media
Share some of the amazing people who are being profiled on your social media too, using the hashtag #CelebrateAgedCare. The #CelebrateAgedCare social media platforms are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.
Who’s behind the campaign?
The #CelebrateAgedCare campaign is joint initiative of our Board member Samantha Bowen and Dr Tanvi Dalal, General Manager of Funding, Signature Care, Australia.
Like all our Board members, Samantha has a wealth of experience and expertise behind her and this pioneering woman has a strong interest in designing, engaging and supporting initiatives that attract young people and professionals to identify how they support older adults in their communities.
Andrew Larpent, Chair of CommonAge says: “At CommonAge, we work to ensure that older people are supported and encouraged to achieve the highest possible quality of life. As and when they need support and care services, these are delivered by highly professional skilled care and support teams.
“These dedicated people frequently go above and beyond their basic ‘job description’ and bring with them the compassion and desire to help make positive changes to other people’s lives.
“#CelebrateAgedCare is a brilliant way to celebrate and put the spotlight on our care workforce; we’d love to see profiles from across the Commonwealth in this exciting campaign.”
Get involved now and be a part of the global voice sharing their passion for supporting older people!
CommonAge believes in an all-age friendly Commonwealth in which ageism is challenged and the contributions of people of all ages are valued. We believe that the strongest societies are those that combine the energy, vitality and potential of younger people with the wisdom and experience of elders
