CommonAge Chapters

With the aim to address ageing challenges in different Commonwealth countries, we have established a number of localised networks.

Commonwealth countries are diverse: they are among the world’s biggest, smallest, richest and poorest countries; there are 21 Commonwealth countries in Africa, 8 in Asia, 13 in Caribbean and Americas, 3 in Europe, 11 in Pacific.

Population ageing is a challenge facing all Commonwealth countries, and each country is at a different stage in its ageing agenda.

Recognising the importance of localised networks to support and address the challenges unique to the country, we have started to establish CommonAge Chapters in the different regions and countries of the Commonwealth.

All the Chapter leads are pioneering this initiative in a voluntary capacity. They are working and collaborating to instigate initiatives and lobby their governments to ensure elders receive the care they deserve and are not left behind in policy making decisions.

We currently have Chapters in the following countries:

Africa

  • Botswana
  • Kenya
  • South Africa

Asia

  • India

For details of how to join our Chapters or to establish a CommonAge Chapter in your Commonwealth Country, please contact Reneta Dsouza, Executive Assistant, secretariat@commage.org

Youth Chapter

This is a community of dynamic young people, aged between 18-35, who are actively engaged with older people across Commonwealth countries.

The aim of this Chapter is to support young leaders and create more opportunities for the generations to come together.
