CommonAge scholarship delegate Anderson Simfukwe from Zambia
Zambian delegate Anderson Simfukwe will be joining other CommonAge scholarship delegates at the IAHSA/ACSA conference, in Perth, 30 August – 3 September.
He is currently the director of the Aged Care and Service Centre in Nakonde, Zambia.
Previous to this position, he worked with Metal Marketing Corporation (MEMACO) in Lusaka and the Zambia Federation of Cooperatives in Nakonde. He later trained as a teacher and worked in education, eventually rising to the position of head teacher. Mr Simfukwe also holds a diploma in Education Leadership and Management with the University of Zambia.
After his appointment as director in 2006, Mr Simfukwe attended the International Federation on Ageing Global Conference in Denmark and in 2013 participated in the International Training Programme in Malta. He also obtained a Certificate in Policy Formulation, Planning, Implementation and Monitoring of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing (MIPAA).
As well as working at the Aged Care and Service Centre, Mr Simfukwe is studying for a Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies with the Information and Communications University of Korea.
