Samantha Bowen holds a strong interest in designing, engaging and supporting initiatives that attract young people and professionals to identify how they support older adults in their communities.
Samantha’s expertise is engagement and connection with Generation Y and Z in our healthcare workplaces – our future leaders – with a strong focus on how social care, ageing, and not-for-profit workplaces can utilise their brilliant missions to engage our age service leaders today and tomorrow.
She has led the creation of national leadership and mentoring initiatives for the age services workforce in Australia. The programs (LASA Next Gen and LASA Mentoring Program) led to high impact and strong recognition across Australia; helping to ensure all ages and professions engaged in aged care discussions and developed the skills to shape and lead in their seniors/aged care workplaces.
Samantha has completed a Graduate Certificate in Ageing, a Masters of Occupational Therapy, and a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science. Plus, she’s supported the Australian Government in the governance of AUD$200mil toward Dementia Research as a board director, received a Layne Beachley Foundation Scholarship, and has experience in leading innovation through her social enterprise across Australia.
