In an industry first, you are invited to explore and discuss the future of aged care through the Home of the Future innovation hub on display during the ‘Global Communities Coming Together’ 2015 ACSA IAHSA Joint International Conference in Perth this September.
Prominent Australian and international architectural firm ThomsonAdsett, together with HLS Healthcare and other leading organisations and ACSA partners, have developed an interactive ‘Home of the Future’, designed to provoke thought, discussion and to challenge your ideas on the future of aged care.
Spearheaded by ThomsonAdsett’s Managing Director, Chris Straw, the Home of the Future is a pioneering concept that brings together the skills, products and technology from those at the forefront of the health and aged care industries, including HLS Healthcare, Borderless Health Group (BHG), Brand Partners, Hills, Hafele, Altro and WindowMaster.
The conference provides an opportunity to share ideas and explore solutions to address the challenges facing the aged care industry, ‘through the Home of the Future we want to really explore how we can meet the care needs of a growing ageing population. As industry experts, we need to discuss the changing demands and cultural shifts happening across our communities. We need to start designing for the future now’, explains Chris.
The Home of the Future gives a glimpse into what the market can expect in the future, showcasing a range of interdependent products and services, from the latest Danish Ropox smart bathrooms and kitchens with electric fixtures and fittings, to smart NV Comfort windows and Elsi Smart flooring, along with state-of-the-art digital GH3 Lifting Modules, Ropimex telescopic shower screen, Vendlet automatic patient turning system and automated nurse-call devises.
The Home of the Future will also demonstrate that through smart design and technology, we can achieve significant operational cost savings by better managing aged care facilities, reducing falls, reducing workplace injuries and managing running costs, while being sensitive to the environment at the same time.
Importantly, the Home of the Future seeks to explore issues around personal empowerment, security, convenience and companionship for seniors, and ask key questions around where and how care will be delivered and what an aged care home will look like. What lifestyle options will seniors want? How do you support wellness and what innovations will give your organisation the edge?
As Chris states, ‘we want to encourage people to consider if this concept is feasible for home care, aged care, retirement living, or all of these. We want to plant that seed that starts generating the conversations, the designs and the innovations’.
The Home of the Future will be on display from 1 – 3 September at the 2015 ACSA IAHSA Joint International Conference, Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre. Click here for more details.
